Investing in options has been an overwhelmingly poor experience for most investors. Greeks, complex math, and chains of data make options seem difficult, risky, and ultimately inaccessible to most investors. Banks, insurers, and asset managers have built a $1 trillion market selling structured investment outcomes to wealthy people in the forms of structured notes, annuities, and ETFs. We want to level the playing field and give every investor the ability to control their financial outcomes.

We are headquartered in Hudson Yards, NYC though our team is made up of a global team of mostly contract designers, engineers, data scientists, financial analysts, and product managers who are working toward a common goal of making outcome investing easy and accessible. We are currently building out our full-time founding team and are excited to find our first 10 employees.


The Role

Olive is actively seeking a Research Analyst with a strong background in finance and accounting. We are looking for not only an interest in finance, but a passion for innovation. In this role you’ll get to conduct research, create structure, and execute investment strategies using listed options. We move fast, iterating quickly on the most important challenges facing our customers’ experience. As a Research Analyst at Olive you will work direction with and in support of our CEO. This role requires a significant level of maturity, good judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills, to work as a team communicating complex ideas, and sensitive information, effectively to executives, management, and partners. For the right candidate, this will be an opportunity to gain practical experience in a dynamic capital markets environment, serving retail investors and financial advisors.


What You’ll Do

  • Organize and analyze fundamental data to produce investment research on specific stocks based on both quantitative and qualitative merits.
  • Build complex financial models for valuation purposes.
  • Create and prepare investment presentations.
  • Contribute to the creation of strategic frameworks, tools and intellectual property to aid business development activities of the firm.
  • Gather and analyze internally generated data, formulate and test hypotheses, develop and communicate recommendations to senior leadership.

Who You Are
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or closely related areas of Business Administration.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience.
  • Product knowledge - Equity, Fixed Income, and Options.
  • Knowledge of corporate finance, securities, financial markets, and risk & pricing analysis.
  • Analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills, including academic and relevant consulting experience in financial modeling and valuation.
  • High aptitude in finance, to synthesize large amounts of information and develop innovative ideas and/or product solutions.
  • A proven track record of high intellectual horsepower, to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Creative and intellectual curiosity with a passion to seek a deeper understanding of how organizations in all sectors perform best.
  • Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, while working under pressure and adhering to tight deadlines.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of investment banking and private banking experience at the Analyst level or Associate level.
  • Experience performing financial and valuation analysis in Excel or comparable spreadsheet tools.


Bonus:

  • Experience in the technology industry.
